Stumbled across a few new toys today and I'm looking for the interface software for them.
Tried to register with GE/Fanuc so I could download the software, but I have to be with a registered company with a customer number etc, and of course, it's a weekend so I can't even call them to find out what I need to do.
So I'm looking for the interface/programming software for a GE 'Series 90 MICRO' PLC and a 'SERIES ONE' PLC.
Anybody?

shoff, thanks for the reply.
Someone else had them for $80, software, manuals, and cable. It's really not too bad a price for a PLC, even a simple one like that. But since this is just a toy, I'm being cheap
Perhaps I should E-mail those sellers and see if anyone is willing to deal on just a copy of software..

Well, at least you don't need the AB RL logic software.
If you are patent with AB stuff you can get complete units for GREAT prices, but then software cost 4 times as much. I am not familiar with the GE controllers.

I believe the software is LogicMaster.
Maybe try:
http://bbxthai.tripod.com/download.htm
or
http://www.marper-int.com/cust_index..wnload_no.html
The demo version seems to be functional except for a limit on program size.

wille has the answer for you . . . GE's lower end PLCs were made by Koyo in Japan and the Direct Logic ladder software will work fine on them - even at that, I think it is $179 for the CD and Cable and it will run on Windows rather than working with DOS.
If you are really cheap - the cable drawings are on the web at the www.automationdirect.com

Now I just have to figure out how the hell to get DOS software to work on XP
Setup dual boot mode, either start in windows or start in DOS. Research Google for DOS/XP dual boot. Another way that might work is DOSBOX. Its an emulator that runs under window, I run it on windows 7, for old DOS games.

You can get the Proficy Machine addition DEMO software from a GE rep near you. Free of charge! The DEMO software is full featured, but you need to reload the program each time (or every few days, It has a built in timer ;-) Not really an issue for the first time user.
I use Logic Master 90 on an XP machine. The Version is SP3 compatible and 'self starts' a DOS full screen.
You might be able to talk your way into LM90, as it is 'obsolete' software. But if the program in the PLC was written on LM90, it can only be read by LM90.
Put 120V on the power modual and observe the battery status. Without a battery to hold memory, whatever settings you may have, and anything you might do, get's tedious doing over.
The instruction, setup and programming literature is available on line at no cost . Get ready, It's going to take some study!
Also,
ref. Proficy* Machine Edition
ref, Thia group has a couple of very sharp individuals when it comes to the GE hardware and software. Just don't ask 'Where can I get the software for free'. JUST DON'T!

The rack Plc is an Automation Direct Dl305 and still supported. The brick is I believe a 315 which AD never sold which is good because it really sucked. Don't be surprised if it takes 15 minutes or more to respond to the programming software when you first hook it up!

GE FANUC plc Software 'Versapro'?

I am in the process of reviving a vacuum coating machine equipped with a GE FANUC 90-30 plc.
It appears that the memory retention battery expired while the machine was in storage. Of course, the supporting PC has long since bit the dust, and I am left without a method to restore the several programs, or originate new ones. Fortunately, I have the printed versions open before me now.
I have not worked with these plc's, but have noted, though old, they remain well supported with a large install base. That sounds good to me.
To my question. How does one go about getting the application software (LogicMaster,Versapro, Proficy) for programming. LogicMaster is DOS based I gather, which is not a problem. I keep an old laptop with an easy to access DOS emulator for some other OLD control applications. I also use Windoz and Linux machines.
I was able to discover the program names from the GE website, but it was not clear how to obtain the software it's self.
Help and advice?
TIA
Cal

I know more about Al Bradley PLCs but I will say that the Windows based programs seem to work a lot nicer than the 'old stuff' I was used to..ala a T3 interface just showing bits in the ladder with no functional descriptors isn't that cool.
I think there are some PLC forums too that might help guide you to where you need to go. Seems like there are newer versions of the 9030 as I recall some new ones being installed in a plant I worked at 3 years ago. But I don't recall what interface software was used.

Thanks
I continue my research
There are lots of other little bits to sort out on the machine, so not a big hold up, but not being able to even run in manual/service mode is a bummer.
