1. At the top of the page, click Bills.
2. If you’re using Essential Bills, you must switch to Advanced Bills to perform this task.
   1. In the left pane under Other tasks, click Change bill settings.
   2. Click switch to Advanced Bills.
   3. Click Use Advanced Bills, and then click OK.
   4. To return to the Bills summary page, click Bills.
3. Click New, and then click the type of transaction you want to add.

You'll need to redeem a Microsoft gift card on the Redeem page to add money to your Microsoft account. The full amount will be added to your Microsoft account and can be used to buy movies, games, in-app purchases, and physical goods. If you don't have a Microsoft gift card, you can purchase one online:

1. Make sure your payment methods are current on your Microsoft account. For more info, see Change the payment method or credit card linked to your Microsoft account or Payment options and orders.

2. Go to the gift cards page in the Microsoft Store and select either Xbox or Microsoft gift card.

3. From the drop-down menu, select the amount of money you want to purchase and add that amount to your cart.

4. Go through the checkout process (you’ll need to sign in to your Microsoft account, so have your password ready).

5. Make sure your name and email address are shown as the recipient and complete your purchase (if you buy a gift card for someone else, it doesn't add money to your account).

6. Confirm that you've received an email with the gift code. Go to the Redeem page. If you have more than one Microsoft account, confirm you're signed in to the right one.

7. Enter the code and select Next. The entire amount associated with the code will be added to your Microsoft account.
